Welcome to the Parish of St. Blasien
In the name of the parish of St. Blasien, I welcome you to our website, where you will find information about the Dome and the parish.
What strikes one most at St. Blasien is undoubtedly the imposing buildings of the former Benedictine abbey with its impressive dome, the so-called "Schwarzwalddom"("Black Forest Dome”). For more detailed information about the history, architecture and art of building, see "Dome of St. Blaise".
The Dome is not a museum but a place of worship, and it has this name rightly only when it is animated by the parish, the "House of Living Stones" (as the Apostle Paul called his congregations). To learn more about parish life see the section " Parish" and "Church Year".
To this belongs "Culture in the Dome". The parish perceives it as a spiritual offer, open to visitors from near and far - with a main focus on church music.
We are delighted that you are visiting us now - virtually - via the internet - next time in person in the Dome of St. Blasien.
